I got contacts two weeks ago, although, unfortunately, I also now have two sties. They hurt and make my eye squinty. I'm hoping this is a one-time thing so I don't have to make up fight stories.
I took public transportation to work for the first time today. It lengthened my commute by 15 minutes, but I must admit that I really enjoyed it - no battling traffic and I have extra time for GRE studying and just plain old reading. I'm currently reading Angeles y Demonios by Dan Brown (apparently the author of the Da Vinci Code - but I'm sure you guys are way ahead of me on that). As I've been reading it, I think of Andy simply b/c the main character is supposed to be a Harvard professor. However, when he says things like, "I'm in the land of Oz and I forgot my magic slippers," I have a hard time buying it. I mean, I could see a 007 script writer, but not much else.

Spanish?
Are you reading it in Spanish? And if so when did you learn Spanish? Or did you just write the title in Spanish for intellectual and dramatic effect?October 12 2005, 17:16:25 UTC 6 years ago
Re: Spanish?
Well, I woke up one day and realized, "Hey! I know Spanish! Suh-weet."Hm. Okay, not really. But I imagine that would be pretty great. I've been studying it for about a year now for a number of reasons. A major one is that Oscar's mom only speaks Spanish, and I'd like to be able to hold a conversation with her. I picked up this particular book for a bilingual book club at a local library. Many of the words go over my head, but it's pretty easy to get the basic idea. So, that's the story.
